This e-book is structured as a course, with 33 modules in two volumes. Volume 1 describes proposal development and field testing; Volume 2 looks at data analysis and report writing. Disease Control Priorities Project  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
This is an ongoing effort to assess disease control priorities and produce evidence-based analysis and resource materials to inform health policymaking in developing countries. DCPP has produced three volumes providing technical resources that can assist developing countries in improving their health systems. The site contains PDF and HTML versions of these reports and a series of fact sheets, data and maps and interventions related to the reports’ findings. MAKER: Management of Health Services  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
This WHO management tutorial is based on the acronym MAKER or "Managers taking Action Based on Knowledge and Effective use of resources to Achieve Results". It reviews numerous management-related concepts and strategies needed for the effective delivery of health services on multiple levels. Management Sciences for Health (MSH)  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
This site contains information about the organization and its projects. MSH is a non-profit educational and scientific organization that works to bridge the gap between science and public health. It currently has projects in 15 countries and works in the areas of primary health care, maternal and child health, family planning and reproductive health. Patient Safety Solutions
Launched in May 2007, the WHO and Joint Commission International have developed a site titled "Nine patient safety solutions". The goal of this endeavor is to help reduce the toll of health care-related harm affecting millions of patients worldwide. The topics range from look-alike medication names to control of electrolyte solutions, avoiding catheter and tubing misconnections and single use injection devices. portable Knowledge Assessment Development System (pKADS)  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
This site is a link to an open source, portable version of the Knowledge Asset Development system (pKADS) developed by the United Nations Population Fund. This tool is used to capture and share knowledge within an organization, by creating and editing knowledge asset details (categories, questions and answers, objectives, resources, network members, etc.) on a computer. Routine Health Information Network (RHINO)  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
RHINO promotes high quality and practical approaches to the collection and use of routine health information in developing countries. 'Routine health information' includes data such as patient records, epidemiological surveillance data, and vital statistics such as mortality rates. RHINO provides workshops, on-line forums, a web based bibliography, full text documents and the RHINO Listserv. The project's participants include developing country governments, donor agencies and technical groups.
