The purpose of this monthly e-newsletter is to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of communication for behavior change and social change as an integral part of development efforts. Primary sources of information are peer-reviewed journals, predominantly Open Access journals with content areas including family planning, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, malaria and social and gender norms. Registration is required but is free. The newsletter is funded by USAID and hosted by AED/SatelLife.

SatelLife offers a monthly publication containing current and
reliable news on a highlighted public health topic. Examples
include HIV/AIDS and nutrition, cardiovascular disease, acute
respitory infections, postpartum hemorrhaging, and much more.
Abstracts and full-text articles are taken from leading
peer-reviewed medical journals and respected international
health organizations. Newsletters are free-of-charge and are
sent out via email. Due to contractual obligations with
journal publishers, permission to receive HealthNet
News-Community Health will only be granted to developing
country residents. 'HealthNet News on Community Health' is
compiled by SatelLife, a non-profit organization based in
Boston, USA.

The MMWR contains data on specific diseases as reported by
state and territorial health departments and reports on
infectious and chronic diseases, environmental hazards,
natural or human-generated disasters, occupational diseases
and injuries, and intentional and unintentional injuries.
Also included are reports on topics of international interest
and notices of events of interest to the public health
community. It is published by the Centers for Disease
Control, U.S.
