The report is an update on the worldwide HIV/AIDS pandemic and includes information on the impact of AIDS on mortality and population globally. It also reviews the current status of the epidemic in Africa, Asia and Latin America. This comprehensive news site collects information from African correspondents and 60 national news agencies. The site is updated every day. It includes feature articles and full-text reports from conferences and non-governmental agencies. Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS)
The Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) conducts research on methods to prevent HIV infection; trains new scientists to conduct prevention research; disseminates knowledge, research and prevention models; and collaborates with scientists from developing countries on research. The site includes a series of fact sheets on prevention of HIV/AIDS, for the general public and health workers, in English and Spanish. The content appears to be particularly oriented to the U.S. but does include useful generic information plus a limited amount of information that is specific to developing countries. The Communication Initiative is a partnership of development organisations seeking to support advances in the effectiveness and scale of communication interventions for positive international development. The HIV-AIDS section provides summaries of health related communication projects and studies. The material ranges from academic studies to grass roots projects. Confronting AIDS: Public Priorities in a Global Epidemic  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)

HIV and AIDS Online Minicourse  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
This minicourse is designed to provide a basic introduction to HIV/AIDS. It is designed for reproductive health and other health care providers, staff, planners, and managers in resource-poor settings. The course contains seven modules and also a glossary of terms. HIV and AIDS Tutorial
This tutorial reviews the basics of the immune system response to the HIV infection. It also discusses the commonly used anti-retroviral drugs and their mode of action. The site includes a series of 'problem sets' to help the user test recently acquired knowledge. It also contains annotated links to other sites with HIV/AIDS information.
