This is a French-language resource. It is intended mainly for public health professionals in France. However, the site includes a useful thesaurus of health science and related areas. Catalogue et Index des Sites Médicaux Francophones (CISMeF)  (French - in part - English)
This gateway contains links to French language health-related websites. The site includes bibliographies, databases, email lists, electronic journals, medical organizations and academic institutions. It also contains a page of links to email discussion lists for medical librarians. The site includes a keyword search index and is maintained by the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire, Rouen, France. http://www.chu-rouen.fr/cismef/

Development Gateway  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)  (French, Spanish)
This is the website of the Development Gateway, an organization that helps communities, organizations, and individuals build partnerships to reduce poverty. It contains subject-based and keyword indices. For each topic, the sub-page contains a discussion of the key issues, current news and projects. Many of the subjects are health related including HIV/AIDS, population and reproductive health, gender issues and ICT for health care. http://www.developmentgateway.org/


Global Health Library (GHL)  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
The goal of this 'under construction' project is to provide 'first step' access to reliable health information in paper, electronic and other formats. The WHO Library and Information Networks for Knowledge gateway will point to information collections and systems in which user groups can best meet their health information needs, facilitate the access to information content produced by key providers and act as a resource locator for print material essential to areas without access to electronic content. http://www.who.int/ghl/en/


Hardin Meta Directory of Internet Health Sources  (Spanish)
This meta gateway ('gateway of gateways') contains links to sites in numerous clinical subjects that include gateways, fulltext information, illustrations and free PubMed articles. It also contains access to related fulltext sites in Spanish and a keyword search index. Health Services/Technology Assessment Text (HSTAT)

Health Systems Trust (HST)  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
HST is a leading clearinghouse for information related to health care in South Africa. The site includes information about HealthLink, a project of HST to meet the communication and information needs of health workers in South Africa. There is also an extensive gateway to information resources relevant to those involved in public health and health systems development. The links are arranged by subject and are regularly updated. HST hosts email discussion lists, including Doctors' Dialogue [mailadoc], which provides practical support to rural doctors. http://www.hst.org.za/

This site is a guide to 'the very best web resources for education and research' for Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health, Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, Bioresearch, and Natural History. Broadest access is via the 'health and sciences' page that contains over 31,000 resouce descriptions. This initial page also includes links to the former OMNI, now Medicine, the former NMAP, Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals and the Bioresearch and Medical History gateways of Intute. World Health Organization: Health Topics  (Focus on Low-Income Countries)  (French, Spanish)
This WHO site links to full-text information (clinical, preventive medicine and research) on the following topics: communicable/infectious diseases, tropical diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, non-communicable diseases, environment, family and reproductive health, health policies, statistics, and systems, health technology and lifestyle.
