Association of Vision Science Librarians
The Association of Vision Science Librarians is an
international organization composed of professional
librarians specifically individuals who work within libraries
that serve educational institutions, eye clinics and
hospitals, and private companies with an interest in eye or
vision-related products and services. Besides information on
the organization, the site contains resources for developing
a vision library and a subject guide and A-Z list of eye
resources on the Internet plus material in Spanish and
statistical resources.

International Centre for Eye Health (ICEH) (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
ICEH is a WHO Collaborating Center for the Prevention of
Blindness, based at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine. The organization helps the Vision 2020 global
initiative to reduce avoidable blindness, with a particular
emphasis on low income countries. The site includes
information on the Center and its research, teaching and
information services. It contains links to fulltext books,
journals, and teaching tools.

A U.S. based non-government organization, Unite for Sight
works to develop sustainable solutions to eye care needs in
the underserved population within the United States and
developing countries. The organization emphasizes health

brochures in English and French to educate international
communities about health and disease, including trachoma,
river blindness, glaucoma, diabetes, malaria, and yellow
