Asia Pacific Glaucoma Guidelines (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
Developed by the South East Asia Glaucoma Interest Group, the
2nd edition of the ‘Glaucoma Guidelines’ is a
downloadable PDF e-book. After summarizing the epidemiology
of glaucoma in Asia, the book extensively reviews the
assessment, treatment and follow-up procedures for this
disease. The appendix includes information on treatment
during pregnancy and lactation, childhood glaucoma, the use
of various diagnostic instruments, drug side-effects and
other topics.

CHE Toxicant and Disease Database
The Collaborative on Health
and the Environment has compiled a unique database that
specifically links chemical contaminants with approximately
180 human diseases or conditions. The database can be
searched based on the specific disease, organ system, and or
chemical name. Results are displayed based on their strength
of evidence (strong, good, or limited). The database is most
useful for identifying what exposures may contribute to
disease.

Environmental Health Action (EHA)
Sponsored by the Physicians for
Social Responsibility, EHA is an online community designed to
educate health professionals and others interested in
environmental health issues. Although targeted mainly towards
a U.S. audience, it has some international content and useful
research updates on air pollution, urban living, children's
health, vulnerable populations, etc.

Environmental Health and Toxicology
The Toxicology and
Environmental Health Information Program of the U.S. National
Library of Medicine has organized a comprehensive directory
of toxicology and environmental health databases,
bibliographies, tutorials and other scientific and
consumer-oriented resources. Topics cover specific chemicals,
occupational hazards, poisoning, environmentally-related
diseases, and toxicology.

Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP) (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
Published by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, EHP is an open-access journal of peer-reviewed research and news on the impact of the environment on human health. The journal occasionally publishes special issues on children's health, environmental medicine, and toxicogenomics. A pilot project EHP Science Education offers lesson plans and resources for science classes based on EHP articles. Select EHP articles are available in French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Russian, plus a special Chinese edition is available. The journal also distributes its monthly print publication for free to developing countries.

This is a resource for sanitarians, environmental health specialists, environmental health officers, students, and other public health professionals. The Global Environmental Facility aids developing countries

Healthy Environments for Children's Alliance (Focus on Low-Income Countries) (Chinese, Russian, Spanish)
A WHO initiative, the Healthy Environments for Children's
Alliance aims to raise awareness and influence decision
makers on effective measures for promoting healthy living
areas for children. The site offers a wealth of background
documents, advocacy materials, approaches to alliance
building, and descriptions of community alliance projects.
The Framework publication also is available in Russian,
Chinese and Spanish. The HECANET mailing list provides
updates on HECA activities, meeting announcements, and
advocacy tools and reports.

Hesperian: Environmental Health E-books (Focus on Low-Income Countries) (Spanish, French)
In 2008, Hesperian published several books on environmental
health for low-resource environments . The titles include
A Community Guide to Environmental Health, Sanitation and Cleanliness for a Healthy Environment and Water For Life: Community Water Security. All or part of each book can be downloaded as a PDF.

International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
The International Federation of Environmental Health members
encompass the national associations who represent the
interests of environmental health professionals. The site is
a resource for scientific reports, IFEH publications and
policy papers, and links to member websites. In addition,
IFEH offers a discussion panel, listserv, and job exchange.
They also sponsor the World Congress on Environmental Health
conference.

PAHO Environmental Health Topics (Focus on Low-Income Countries) (French, Spanish)
The Pan American Health Organization has compiled an
environmental health topics list addressing air pollution,
chemical safety, disaster assistance, drinking water, healthy
housing, and water quality. Each topic provides links to
announcements, books, manuals, multimedia, technical
documents,and publications. Some of these resources are
available in French and/or Spanish.

TEACH is a searchable database of

Virtual Library of Sustainable Development and Environmental Health
The site serves as an extensive portal to bibliographic
references, full-text documents, journals, web links and
courses/events on numerous sustainable development and
environmental health topics. The primary ‘subject
themes’ include health determinants, social policies,
climate change, health promotion and public health related
millennium development goals. The site contains a keyword
search engine and is maintained by BIREME/PAHO.

WHO - Environmental Health (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
The Environmental Health website is an extensive portal to
WHO's research, reports, and activities. The Health and
Environment Linkages Initiative attempts to encourage
developing countries to acknowledge the link between
environment and health as integral to economic development.
That site highlights priority risk areas, outlines current
pilot projects, and provides tools for conducting economic
and impact assessments. The WHO's World Health Report
provides a comprehensive look at the state of global health.
The Report often contains sections on the contribution of
environmental factors to the global health burden. The Global
Estimates of Burden of Disease Caused by Environment and
Occupation Risks analyzes twenty-eight risk factors by gender
and age groups.

WHO Children's Environmental Health (Focus on Low-Income Countries)
The WHO Children's Environmental Health website provides
access to reports and research on how to determine child
environmental health indicators, evaluate risk factors,
engage in capacity building, and assess children health
profiles at a national level. The site includes two useful
statistical databases: WHO Global Database on Child Health
and Malnutrition and the Data Review on Children's
Environmental Health.
