SATELLIFE is a leader in bringing handheld computers to the world's poorest countries. In villages where once there was not even a medical journal, there is now a virtual library, thanks to the power of PDAs just like yours.

Following a fifteen-year tradition empowering health practitioners around the world with the information they need to heal and save lives,  SATELLIFE has taken handheld computers to Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Physicians, nurses, medical students, community health workers, and others are successfully using them to track patient information, collect epidemiological data, manage drug inventory, and much more.  (more on projects. . .)

SATELLIFE doesn't just drop the equipment in place. We make sure that our partners on the ground have the skills, hardware, and software they need to use their handhelds successfully long after we have gone home. Our work has proven that PDAs are capable of improving information dissemination, continuing medical education, data collection and analysis, and even two-way communication in resource-poor environments. These are giant strides, but there is still much to be done.

Your donated PDA will be tested and shipped to Africa, enabling your donation to have an immediate impact. SATELLIFE is working with the Makerere University in Uganda, a center for excellence in the research and treatment of AIDS and other health providers in Uganda, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and South Africa. SATELLIFE will also handle the distribution of the devices and the training of the health practitioners who receive them.

In the world's poorest communities, a small handheld can make a big difference.

Thank you for contributing yours to SATELLIFE.
